June 29th in Rome: what happens

On June 29 in Rome the festivities of Saints Peter and Paolo, patrons of the city, are celebrated in Rome. On the occasion of this day, the volunteers of the Pro Loco from all over Italy, colour Via della Conciliazione and Piazza Pio XII with carpets and floral paintings inspired by the theme of prayer, honouring the ancient religious rite of the infiorata. The theme chosen this year, as indicated by Pope Francis and in agreement with the Holy See, is “Prayer” on the occasion of the celebrations for the long-awaited event of the Jubilee 2025. The painting will be possible to see starting from 9 am on the 29th June.

Together with this in Castel Sant’Angelo there will be a fireworks display called “Girandola di Castel Sant’Angelo”, the event will start at 9:30 PM and will last about 20 minutes.
